Mission: Nurturing Healthy Generations
Why We Started This Mission
The foundation of Dr. Khapekar’s Grow Well Baby’s 1000 Days Mission lies in years of research and a deep commitment to improving the health and future of our children. Our research on the first 1,000 days of life—from conception to a child’s second birthday—revealed that this critical window shapes a child’s physical and mental development for life. During this period, the right nutrition, care, and health interventions can lay a strong foundation for intelligence, growth, and long-term health. Unfortunately, our findings highlighted that many parents are unaware of the pivotal role these 1,000 days play in their child’s future.
Compounding this issue is the widespread prevalence of poor nutrition practices during childhood and adolescence, which not only stunts growth and development but also affects the pre-pregnancy health of future parents. Poor adolescent and maternal nutrition often lead to complications during pregnancy, including preterm births, low birth weight, and lifelong health issues for the baby. These alarming trends inspired us to create this mission that empowers parents, caregivers, and healthcare providers with knowledge and tools to ensure better outcomes.
